Join us this summer for historic family fun as our Medieval Mayhem event comes back with a bang.

A fun family weekend of medieval merriment as our popular Medieval Mayhem event comes back with a bang. Immerse yourself in what life was life in the medieval period with an exciting selection of performances, demonstrations and hands-on activities, fun for all ages including:

  • Combat displays from knights in armour
  • Pottery demonstrations
  • New for 2024! - Nature and history themed storytelling, song, and music with the Wild man of the Woods
  • Musical performances
  • Hull Pride inspired medieval themed craft activities
  • ‘Have a go’ pottery activity
  • ‘Have a go’ archery*
  • Cookery, armour and craft displays
  • Food and drink stalls**

A number of the combat displays, pottery demonstrations and storytelling performances on each event day will be British Sign Language interpreted. Timings of these performances will be published ahead of the event.

A pre-bookable relaxed family craft session with limited numbers, designed for people who have a disability, are neurodivergent or experience anxiety will also run each day. Booking for this will open early July 2024.

*There will be a small fee for the archery of £3 per person for 4 arrows. Cash and card payments will both be accepted.

**Charges will also apply for the food and drink stalls. These stalls will also accept both cash and card payments and will include vegetarian and vegan options.

All other activities are free and drop-in.
