Gallery 6 – Temporary Collection Displays
Displays in this gallery change throughout the year. Coming up: Eight newly acquired works by artist Andy Lock will go on display to celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2023. Andy’s photographs depict Hull’s history of everyday post-war buildings. The photographs, taken in 2003 are part of the Orchard Park series which captured the abandoned Vernon House tower block on Orchard Park estate in Hull, before it was demolished.

Gallery 10 – Children’s Gallery: Explore Art
Play, create and explore in this interactive ground floor gallery, designed especially for children aged 0–5. Discover hands-on activities that encourage kids to explore artworks through line, shape, colour and texture. The gallery includes a mix of paintings, plus the opportunity for children to display their very own artworks.

Gallery 12 – Maritime Highlights
Dive into maritime history with this unique collection of maritime paintings. Artworks on display include locally and internationally significant pieces by Richard Parkes Bonington, John Ward, William Frederick Settle and Spencer Tunick.
